Delighted to share my paper "Measuring Students’ Cognitive Engagement During Emergency Online Learning in the Amidst of COVID-19 Pandemic". The aim of the study was to measure the students’ cognitive engagement by considering their motivational drives during the remote learning process because of COVID-19 pandemic. Stipulated this, the study employed Biggs’s (1987) Study Process Questionnaire to measure students’ cognitive engagement enrolled in the public and private universities by offering them online learning facility. Statistically significant results were witnessed for the demographic variables (gender, university type, discipline, and prior online experience) in relation to students’ cognitive engagement. Stepwise regression analysis predicted cognitive engagement of social sciences’ students’ through surface approach and surface strategy for the postgraduate students. Furthermore, it also estimated that students’ with earlier experience of online learning predicted more profound (deep) motive drive and female students’ projected more deep strategy as compared to their male counterparts. This study presents implications to the teachers to employ useful online teaching strategies to engage students’ remotely and to organize their teaching sessions according to the needs of the learners. #Cognitive Engagement, #Emergency online Learning#COVID-19 Pandemic https://lnkd.in/d7n2tQVm

Being an External examiner evaluated students' research theses from HEIs (good ranked universities) in Pakistan and identified the similar pattern of gaps in students' research work. The major gaps are the following: #Students' don't study the research papers/ books/ theses from a reliable source and don't mention the methodological, sampling, theoretical gaps while mentioning the rationale of their study. #Students' don't review the previous research strengths and weakness to make a strong ground of their research and repeat the same variables and constructs that make no sense. #Students don't look for common topics, trends, and patterns across the literature that's why they produce the compromised research. #Students don't identify any relevant questions that have not been addressed or are under-explored.#Students don't stay updated with new developments in the field that might not be covered extensively in the existing literature.I think proper #mentoring/supervision is really crucial to guide students in the right direction of their research study. Supervisors should estimate their time and efforts before accepting students for research supervision. Establishing identity through students' research supervision is only possible if they invest proper time and efforts without blaming students' lack of interest in research agenda. Producing good quality research and publishing in top ranked journals is only possible if proper efforts are invested. #sense of realization#sense of integrity #sense of responsibility #sense of professional identity

Research #Citation play a crucial role in upholding academic integrity and promoting the robustness of scholarly communication. Reaching #1000 citations based on my research work (Teacher Education) is a significant achievement! It indicates that my work has a substantial impact within my field of study (Teacher Education). Citation count is often used as a measure of research influence and the importance of a particular study within the academic community. Receiving such recognition reflects the quality, relevance, and contribution of research to the broader scholarly conversation. My significant research contribution #Inclusive Education #Gender, #Professional Standards, #Teacher efficacy Beliefs. #Google Citations #1K #Teacher Education. #Reorienting Teacher Education.

A best-practice report from UNESCO Chair network members: future teachers exhibit their perspectives on ESD in Pakistan. In April 2024, faculty members from theUniversity of Education(Lahore, Pakistan) and students of the Bachelors of Education Honours Program curated an exhibition on campusfocusing on the thematic width of ESD, addressing environment, social harmony, peace, gender equality, and humanrights in the context of the SDGs. Students showcased their perspectives by creating innovative yet sustainably designed installations and products (bookmarks, greetings cards, low-cost cloth bags, etc.), representing the norms and values of education and highlighting the power of arts and crafts in addressing societal challenges. Conversations supported students in their reflections on transforming teaching styles to allow students to live what they learn and to become lifelong learners.UNESCO Chair in Reorienting Education towards Sustainabilityhttps://lnkd.in/dm7x6kpQKatrin Kohl Charles Hopkins UNESCO Institute for Lifelong LearningUniversity of Education, Lahore.
